Valerie comes to Women’s Wellness with a wealth of experience from her previous work in corporate healthcare and medical education. Her passion for health and wellness lead her to transition to a career in mental health five years ago. She believes in treating the whole person, mind and body. Valerie utilizes a strength-based approach incorporating CBT, narrative techniques and positive psychology in her work. She seeks to help clients find meaning in their current life situations in order to address problems and create a better future. Her skills include being able to provide empathy and compassion while empowering clients to help themselves. Valerie believes that offering clients a safe, relaxed and supportive environment is a crucial part of the therapeutic process. She is passionate about helping individuals in the perinatal and postpartum periods of life, as well as navigating challenges in parenting, anxiety, depression and life transitions. Valerie received her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC and her master’s degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University.
