Dominique O’Connell; Yoga Instructor

Dominique began her yoga journey 20 years ago practicing Baptiste yoga in Boston and Brooklyn. After returning to her hometown, New Haven, in 2008, she continued practicing Power Yoga but also began to experience and enjoy a variety of vinyasa classes, especially classes that focused on the importance of mobility and body awareness, slower and deeper flows, and attention to alignment and injury prevention. As a mother of two, runner, and cyclist, Dominique was drawn to yoga’s grounding ability through mind/body connection—finding the calm in this sometimes chaotic life. Her prenatal and postnatal classes focus on nurturing the mother, supporting the body’s specific needs as relates to perinatal health and well being, and fostering a connectedness between mom and baby. Dominique believes that movement and mindfulness allows moms to tap into their intuition and strength as they journey through pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Dominique completed her 200 hr teacher training with 108 Monkeys in New Haven under the amazing guidance of Peg Oliveira, Elizabeth Lowe and Courtney Bauer. She graciously honors her teachers and their commitment to yoga service.

Colleen Leone, LPC; Psychotherapist

As an individual counselor, I am here to provide one on one support and guidance to help you live a happier, healthier life. I have experience helping clients with a wide range of issues and am particularly passionate about addressing women’s issues including returning to work postpartum, finding a balance between family, career, school, or personal time, work stress, self-esteem issues, and transitioning to different life stages. Self-care is so important to all of us and counseling is just one way you can begin to show some love to yourself. My therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy. Many times, our issues are less about the events that happen in our lives and more about how we perceive these events or how we perceive our level of control over these events. Through mindfulness practices and cognitive restructuring, we can tackle many of life’s problems together. I would be honored to join you in your journey of personal growth and change.

Michelle Pagliarella, Yoga Instructor

Possessing a nomadic nature and infectious sense of humor, Michelle Pagliarella has been practicing yoga for 20 years.  Living bi-coastal for decades, she has experienced fully a multitude of cultures as well as developed a keen sixth sense throughout her travels.. Drawing sensitivity from past challenges, she’s able to tap into intuitively what her students want at any given time. Truly a rare gift, Michelle doesn’t take the yogic path lightly.

Knowing that yoga is a marriage between body and mind/spirit, Michelle expresses this union in a Vinyasa flow that encapsulates softness and strength. Her philosophy is that you need to be soft in order to be strong; echoing the ancient saying “you need to be like bamboo, firmly rooted, yet flexible”. Students have expressed that watching Michelle teach is like watching an underwater dance. Her belief is that the linking of breath with movement, as in traditional Vinyasa flow, allows the student to tap into their own wellspring of creativity and power. It is from this place where Michelle’s strength as a teacher becomes apparent. She has the unique, disarming quality that commands trust from her devotees, while remaining a fierce companion to her students in their exploration of untapped potential.

A Registered E-200-hour and 300-hour (yoga therapy) Yoga Teacher, along with 1500 hours of teaching, Michelle has trained with many Eastern healers in Seattle, Portland (OR), San Francisco, Providence, RI, NYC and CT. She is also a 100-hour Certified Meditation Teacher, a Reiki 2 Practitioner, has a B.S in psychology, lives a cruelty-free lifestyle, is an accomplished vegan chef and is Buddhist.

Kelly Sloan; Yoga Instructor

For as long as I can remember I have felt a powerful responsibility, passion, and ability, for supporting the health and well being of women. My journey began as a Women’s Health Registered Nurse. After 7 years of nursing work, I felt pulled by the universe to pursue my soul’s true passion: supporting women during pregnancy, birth, and motherhood as a doula and yoga teacher. I completed a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher training through Kindness Yoga in Bali, Indonesia in 2017, and an 85 Hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training through The Mama’hood in Denver, Colorado in 2018. I am a Certified Birth Doula through Doulas of North America and International (DONA).
My own journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood has further strengthened my passion for doula work and teaching. My prenatal yoga classes focus on preparing the mind and body for birth/motherhood through intentional movements, meditation, and Kundalini inspired “keep-ups.” I strive to help my students feel good and adapt to their changing bodies, alleviate common discomforts of pregnancy, help position baby optimally for birth, connect with their baby, safely strengthen and open the body, and tap into their wisdom, intuition, and strength. My Mommy and Me classes are tailored to help connect with baby outside of the womb, facilitate postpartum healing of mind and body, provide tools to navigate the challenges of motherhood, and create a community for mothers.
When I am not teaching or doula-ing I enjoy spending time outdoors with my 7 month old daughter, husband, and dog, traveling, and cooking plant based meals!
